Call to Order

A Home Run Club meeting for Piedmont Baseball was held on January 5, 2022, in the Piedmont High School cafeteria and was presided over by Coach Skokowski.

Announcements

  • The website is being redone to make it more user friendly. 
  • Construction on the new field is tentatively scheduled to be done February 1st.
  • BSN orders will be in next week.
  • Hats will be in around January 15th – $20 each. 
    • High School players will have two hats per player – $40 total
      • Can be prepaid to Coach Skow.
    • Middle School players will have one hat per player – $20 total
    • Extras will be sold after all players have received their hats.
  • Schedules are done and on website
  • REMINDER: Middle School Tryouts – Email will be coming from the school. 
    • January 22nd
      • 8th grade = 10-12
      • 7th grade =12-2
    • January 24th
      • 8th grade = 5-6:30
      • 7th grade = 6:30-8
  • Meet the Player is being looked into, no details at this time. Facilities are a concern.
  • Photos will be done and used on the video board.  If anyone knows of someone that will take them for free or for a trade, please let us know.
  • We will need help and volunteers.  We do have a teacher that will be announcing the Varsity games but will need an announcer for the development teams and middle school.
  • Concession stand is still being discussed with the ADs.  More to Come. 
  • We will continue to have hospitality rooms for the Umpires and Coaches during tournaments.  We provide food and beverages.  If anyone has contacts that can get food donated, please let us know.  

Fundraisers

  • Email Fundraiser
    • Starts Friday, January 7th – goes for 21 days
    • Each player needs at least 20 emails of people they think might donate.  The easiest way is to have them put the emails in Notes on their phones without any commas.
  • Sponsorships are replacing Advertisement signs
    • Will be doing video board ads
    • A Game Sponsors ad will be the only ad that shows during specific innings
    • Tournament Sponsors ad will be the only ad that shows during specific innings
    • Website Sponsors
    • Packages are also available
    • Coach Skow sent out an email with the form and Ryan Aller’s contact information.  Ryan Aller will work with the companies on their ad.

Questions

  • Will there be a middles school Game Changer?  A parent can volunteer.
  • Are the number of teams being reduced from last year for Middle School?  There will be two teams however they will be broken up into 4 teams during double header days.

Baseball Events for the School Year

  • Middle School tryouts = January 22nd and 24th
  • Senior Night = April 28th
  • Spring Break Off Days (V=3/12-3/16, B=3/12-3/16, G=3/13-3/17)
  • Spring Break Practice (V=Morning of 3/18, B=3/18, G=3/19)
  • Hosting Tournaments (V=3/31-4/2, B=3/24-3/26, G=3/10-3/12, JH=4/7-4/9)
  • Hosting a 5A only Varsity festival – 7 teams (4/21 – 4/23)
  • Edmond Spring Break festival co-hosting (3/17 & 3/18 will be at our field)
  • Banquet – TBD
