Gold Comes Up Short with Stillwater

GAME 1

Piedmont Freshman Wildcats struggled to get their offense going on Thursday, getting easily dispatched by Stillwater Freshman, 9-0.

A double by Titus Boice in the first inning was positive for Piedmont Freshman Wildcats.
#45 was on the hill for Stillwater Freshman. The hurler surrendered zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Carson Coleman toed the rubber for Piedmont Freshman Wildcats. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out one.  Caden Wiebusch threw two innings in relief.
Nathan Ma, Boice, Cade Cameron, and Coleman all had one hit to lead Piedmont Freshman Wildcats.
Stillwater Freshman stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. #1 led the way with two.

GAME 2

Stillwater Freshman got things moving in the first inning.  An error scored one run for Stillwater Freshman.
Piedmont Freshman Wildcats knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the first inning.  Piedmont Freshman Wildcats scored two runs when Cade Cameron singled.

After Stillwater Freshman scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Piedmont Freshman Wildcats answered with two of their own.  Stillwater Freshman scored when an error scored two runs for Stillwater Freshman.  Piedmont Freshman Wildcats then answered when #13 induced Landon Burke to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored and #13 induced Jonas Harris to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Stillwater Freshman pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.  In the second #7 doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

#13 toed the rubber for Stillwater Freshman. The hurler allowed four hits and five runs over five innings, striking out two.

Nathan Ma started the game for Piedmont Freshman Wildcats. The bulldog went two innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out two, and walking zero.  Garrett Tully and Catcher Lindley entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Tully, Cameron, Carson Coleman, and Burke all had one hit to lead Piedmont Freshman Wildcats.
Stillwater Freshman racked up nine hits.  #2 and #14 each collected multiple hits for Stillwater Freshman.
