Gold Loses Lead Early in Defeat to Yukon

Piedmont Freshman Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-0 loss to Yukon Millers JV Red on Thursday.  Yukon Millers JV Red scored on a groundout by #2 in the first inning, a groundout by #8 in the second inning, and a single by #29 in the second inning.

The Piedmont Freshman Wildcats struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Yukon Millers JV Red, giving up ten runs.

Yukon Millers JV Red got on the board in the first inning.  #2 grounded out, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Piedmont Freshman Wildcats was a single by Garrett Tully in the sixth inning.
#2 toed the rubber for Yukon Millers JV Red. The hurler surrendered zero runs on one hit over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one.

Titus Boice was on the hill for Piedmont Freshman Wildcats. The bulldog lasted two innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three and walking zero.  Carson Coleman and Tully entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four innings and one inning respectively.
Tully led Piedmont Freshman Wildcats with one hit in two at-bats.

Yukon Millers JV Red scattered eight hits in the game.  #5 and #23 all collected multiple hits for Yukon Millers JV Red.  #5 went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Yukon Millers JV Red in hits.
