Blue Holds Off Newcastle for the W

Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats stole the lead late and defeated Newcastle Racers JV 10-2 on Friday.  The game was tied at two with Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jackson Elliott singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the fifth inning.  Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats offense in the inning was led by Ty Bohuslavicky, Elliott, Brayden Johnson, Trevor Tewell, Cole Pruitt, and  Bohuslavicky, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Newcastle Racers JV fired up the offense in the first inning when Hayden Archey was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Noah Aller took the win for Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats. The southpaw lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three.

Jackson Robertson took the loss for Newcastle Racers JV. The bulldog surrendered seven runs on six hits over four innings, striking out three.

Rhyder Dreschler started the game for Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats. The bulldog went two innings, allowing two runs on zero hits and striking out four

Elliott went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats in hits.  Piedmont Junior Varsity Wildcats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Tewell led the way with two.
Robertson led Newcastle Racers JV with one hit in one at-bats.
