Piedmont Varsity Wildcats grabbed an early lead on its way to a 9-1 victory over Dell Rapids Baseball Team Varsity on Saturday.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats scored on a double by Gabe Clyden, a single by Trey Migl, a walk by Cole Girard, a wild pitch by Dalton Hampton, and a single by Cole Riggs in the first inning.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the first inning.  The offensive onslaught by Piedmont Varsity Wildcats was led by Clyden, Migl, Girard, Hampton, and Riggs, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Weston Thomas led the Piedmont Varsity Wildcats to victory on the mound. The righty went five innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out nine.

Riggs led Piedmont Varsity Wildcats with three hits in three at-bats.
