Blue Come Up Short Against Norman

Saturday’s game against Norman High JV Orange was a heartbreaker for Piedmont Wildcats Blue, as they lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat.  The game was tied at one with Norman High JV Orange batting in the bottom of the fifth when #18 singled on a 3-1 count, scoring three runs.

Piedmont Wildcats Blue lost despite out-hitting Norman High JV Orange seven to six.

Piedmont Wildcats Blue fired up the offense in the first inning.  Brayden Johnson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Norman High JV Orange tied things up at one when #4 doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

#8 led the Norman High JV Orange to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The pitcher went five innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out nine, and walking one.

Jacob Boesch took the loss for Piedmont Wildcats Blue. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Nic Elmhorst started the game for Piedmont Wildcats Blue. The righty surrendered one run on three hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.

Piedmont Wildcats Blue racked up seven hits in the game.  Rhyder Dreschler, Johnson, and Jackson Elliott all had multiple hits for Piedmont Wildcats Blue.  Elliott, Johnson, and Dreschler each collected two hits to lead Piedmont Wildcats Blue.

#2 went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Norman High JV Orange in hits.  Norman High JV Orange tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. #16 led the way with two.
