Doubles for Days for the Wildcats

Cole Girard drove in four on two hits to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats past Del City Eagles Varsity 15-4 on Tuesday.  Girard drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the second, and a groundout in the third.

Del City Eagles Varsity scored three runs in the fifth inning, but Piedmont Varsity Wildcats still managed to pull out the victory.  Del City Eagles Varsity scored its runs on a single by PlayerL.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats fired up the offense in the first inning when Trey Migl reached on a dropped third strike.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats put up six runs in the second inning.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats’ big inning was driven by singles by Migl, Dax Priddy, and Girard and a double by Jackson Harriger.

Fidel Hatch earned the win for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. The righty went four innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out eight.  Caden Steed threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Braden Walters took the loss for Del City Eagles Varsity. The righty allowed 12 hits and ten runs over two innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats racked up 19 hits.  Noah Smith, Cole Riggs, Migl, Priddy, and Girard each racked up multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats in hits.
