Piedmont Varsity Wildcats had everything working on Tuesday, winning big over Guthrie Bluejays Varsity 12-2.
Guthrie Bluejays Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning when Fidel Hatch’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Guthrie Bluejays Varsity.
Piedmont Varsity Wildcats put up four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Logan Hill and a double by Dalton Hampton.
Hatch led the Piedmont Varsity Wildcats to victory on the hill. The pitcher went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out nine.
Hubbard took the loss for Guthrie Bluejays Varsity. Hubbard lasted three innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking one.
Piedmont Varsity Wildcats launched two home runs on the day. Trey Migl had a dinger in the third inning. Cole Girard put one out in the second inning.
Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tallied ten hits on the day. Gabe Clyden and Hill each racked up multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Clyden went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats in hits.
Giddings led Guthrie Bluejays Varsity with two hits in two at-bats.
