Piedmont Varsity Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-3 loss to Bishop McGuinness Varsity Irish on Tuesday.  Bishop McGuinness Varsity Irish scored on an error in the first inning, a single by Brett Jacobs in the first inning, a groundout by Augusto Schroeder in the second inning, and a double by Dax Joyce in the second inning.

Caleb Lunnon took the loss for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Lunnon allowed five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out seven.

Cole Riggs led Piedmont Varsity Wildcats with two hits in two at-bats.  Riggs led Piedmont Varsity Wildcats with two stolen bases which also broke the Piedmont single-season stolen base record with 28. Piedmont ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.

Ben Corley went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bishop McGuinness Varsity Irish in hits.
