Piedmont Varsity Wildcats wins contest against Elgin Owls’ Baseball on Thursday,  5-2.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats got things started in the first inning.  Weston Thomas’s sac fly scored one run for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

Dalton Hampton earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Hampton lasted six and third innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out one.  Jackson Harriger threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Harriger recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

Damien Callogy took the loss for Elgin Owls’ Baseball. The bulldog allowed eight hits and five runs over six innings, striking out three.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tallied one home run on the day. Cole Girard had a homer in the fourth inning.
Piedmont Varsity Wildcats racked up eight hits in the game.  Noah Smith and Gabe Clyden each managed multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Clyden and Smith each collected two hits to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Dax Priddy had the most chances in the field with 11.

Tres Lorah went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Elgin Owls’ Baseball in hits.
