Wildcats Fall to Demons After 7th Inning Score

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats stayed in it until the end, but Duncan Demons Varsity pulled away late in a 7-3 victory on Saturday.  The game was tied at two with Duncan Demons Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Kenny Garland singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats got things moving in the first inning.  Dax Priddy drove in one when Priddy doubled.

In the top of the third inning, Duncan Demons Varsity tied things up at two when Blake Barnard doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Barnard took the win for Duncan Demons Varsity. Barnard lasted three and third innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out two and walking zero.  Eli Ramirez and Preston Giles entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Ethan Nawaz took the loss for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Nawaz allowed three hits and four runs over two-thirds of an inning, walking one.

Jordan Askren started the game for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats had ten hits in the game.  Gabe Clyden and Logan Hill each had multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Clyden led Piedmont Varsity Wildcats with three hits in four at-bats.
Duncan Demons Varsity totaled 11 hits in the game.  Barnard, Tully Booth, and Jackson Poague all collected multiple hits for Duncan Demons Varsity.  Barnard went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Duncan Demons Varsity in hits.
