Monday’s game against Carl Albert was a heartbreaker for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats, as they lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat.  The game was tied at three with Carl Albert batting in the top of the ninth when Fidel Hatch induced Brodie Hinson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats fired up the offense in the second inning, when Logan Hill doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the seventh inning, Carl Albert tied things up at three.  Carl Albert scored one run when Mason Novotny singled.

#38 was the winning pitcher for Carl Albert. Allowing one hit and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one.  Luke Stout and #34 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Caleb Lunnon took the loss for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Lunnon lasted eight innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out three and walking one.

Karsten Geiger started the game for Carl Albert. The ace went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out three

Dax Priddy led Piedmont Varsity Wildcats with two hits in four at-bats.

Novotny went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Carl Albert in hits.  Carl Albert was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Tanner Norman made the most plays with 13.
