Piedmont Wildcats Class 5A Regional Champs

Fidel Hatch shut down Eisenhower Varsity Eagles, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Piedmont Varsity Wildcats to a 15-0 victory on Friday.

Weston Thomas led Piedmont Varsity Wildcats to victory by driving in five runs.  Thomas went 3-for-3 at the plate.  Thomas drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the second.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats got things started in the first inning when Thomas singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats put up 11 runs in the second inning.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats’ offense in the inning was led by Thomas, Dax Priddy, Logan Hill, Jakeb Koop, Cole Riggs, and  Thomas, all driving in runs in the frame.

A single by Justin Strickland in the first inning was positive for Eisenhower Varsity Eagles.
Hatch was the winning pitcher for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six.

Charlie Trachte took the loss for Eisenhower Varsity Eagles. The bulldog surrendered 13 runs on eight hits over one and one-third innings.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats totaled 13 hits in the game.  Thomas, Riggs, and Trey Migl all managed multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Thomas went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats in hits.
