Piedmont Varsity Wildcats defeated Sapulpa Chieftains 10-8 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at eight with Piedmont Varsity Wildcats batting in the bottom of the fifth when Cole Riggs singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Piedmont Varsity Wildcats collected ten hits and Sapulpa Chieftains 13 in the high-scoring affair.
Piedmont Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the first inning. Weston Thomas singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Sapulpa Chieftains scored four runs in the fourth inning. Garrett Richards, Peter Shibley, and Kaiden Ashton each drove in runs during the inning.
