Wildcats Held a Hitting Clinic Against El Reno

Luke Hill got busy on the basepaths on Monday, knocking four hits in Piedmont Varsity Wildcats’s 12-2 victory over El Reno Varsity Indians.  Hill singled in the first, doubled in the second, doubled in the fourth, and singled in the seventh.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats fired up the offense in the first inning.  Noah Smith hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats scored three runs in the seventh inning.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats’ big bats were led by Cole Pruitt, Hill, and Reid Smith, all driving in runs in the inning.

Jakeb Koop was on the pitcher’s mound for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Koop allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.

Davin Shamblin started the game for El Reno Varsity Indians. Shamblin allowed 12 hits and nine runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four.  Tinsley threw one and one-third innings in relief.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats saw the ball well today, racking up 17 hits in the game.  Hill, Smith, Jackson Harriger, and Smith each racked up multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Hill went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats in hits.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Hill led the way with three.

Tinsley led El Reno Varsity Indians with two hits in three at-bats.
