Weston Thomas came to the ballpark and meant business on Monday, driving in five on two hits to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats past Guthrie Varsity Bluejays 11-1 on Monday.  Thomas drove in runs on a triple in the first and a grand slam in the third.

In the first inning, Piedmont Varsity Wildcats got their offense started.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats scored one run when Reid Smith singled.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tallied five runs in the third inning.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats’ big inning was driven by a walk by Smith and a home run by Thomas.

Jakeb Koop toed the rubber for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. The right-hander went five innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out four, and walking zero.

Zach Henry was on the pitcher’s mound for Guthrie Varsity Bluejays. Henry allowed eight hits and ten runs over four innings, striking out five.  Brent Ingle threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tallied one home run on the day. Thomas had a four-bagger in the third inning.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tallied ten hits in the game.  Noah Smith, Smith, and Thomas all had multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Thomas, Smith, and Smith each collected two hits to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dalton Hampton had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
