Piedmont Varsity Wildcats snagged a late lead and defeated Eufaula Ironheads  10-2 on Friday.  The game was tied at one with Piedmont Varsity Wildcats batting in the top of the fourth when Jakeb Koop’s sac fly scored one run for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

Eufaula Ironheads got things moving in the first inning.  Draven Gragg lined out, scoring one run.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Noah Smith tripled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tallied five runs in the fifth inning.  Piedmont Varsity Wildcats’ big bats were led by Weston Thomas, Smith, and Nicholas Elmhorst, all driving in runs in the frame.

Clayton Harrington led the Piedmont Varsity Wildcats to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The righty surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out four.  Noah Aller threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen striking out four.

Hayden Robinson took the loss for Eufaula Ironheads. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats collected ten hits.  Smith, Luke Hill, Thomas, and Elmhorst all had multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Elmhorst, Thomas, Hill, and Smith each collected two hits to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.
