On Saturday, Piedmont Varsity Wildcats snagged a late lead and defeated Norman North Timberwolves Varsity 4-1.  The game was tied at one with Piedmont Varsity Wildcats batting in the top of the sixth when Ethen Swenson induced Jakeb Koop to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats got things moving in the second inning, when Cole Girard doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Norman North Timberwolves Varsity tied things up at one when Robert Evans hit a solo homer.

Koop led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Koop went seven innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out seven.

Keller was on the pitcher’s mound for Norman North Timberwolves Varsity. Keller went three innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out three, and walking zero.  Jaxon Hasty, Swenson, Michael Ridgway, and Terry Pursell entered the game as relief, throwing one inning, one inning, one inning, and one inning respectively.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game.  Noah Smith and Girard each racked up multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Girard and Smith each collected two hits to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.
