Errors and Lack of Bats Lead to Loss

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the first inning when Weston Thomas hit a solo homer.

Sand Springs Sandites Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third J Schlehuber doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, K Campbell singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and G Elliot singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

J Arnold was on the pitcher’s mound for Sand Springs Sandites Varsity. The fireballer allowed one hit and one run over one inning, striking out two and walking zero.

Noah Smith led things off on the mound for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on three hits.  Thomas, Clayton Harrington, and Noah Aller each contributed in relief for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats launched one home run on the day. Thomas went yard in the first inning.

Thomas, Logan Hill, and Cole Girard each collected one hit to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

Sand Springs Sandites Varsity collected nine hits on the day.  Schlehuber and Elliot all collected multiple hits for Sand Springs Sandites Varsity.  Schlehuber went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Sand Springs Sandites Varsity in hits.  Sand Springs Sandites Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. C Graham had the most chances in the field with 12.
