Piedmont Coming up Strong against the Irish

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats weathered a scare by Bishop McGuinness Varsity Irish in the second inning where Piedmont Varsity Wildcats coughed up three runs, but Piedmont Varsity Wildcats still won 16-5 on Monday.  Augusto Schroeder and Dax Joyce all drove in runs in the frame.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats fired up the offense in the first inning.  An error scored one run for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats put up seven runs in the fifth inning.  The rally was led by singles by Cole Riggs and Weston Thomas, a sacrifice fly by Cole Girard, and a double by Trey Migl.

Fidel Hatch pitched Piedmont Varsity Wildcats to victory. Hatch surrendered five runs on two hits over five innings, striking out 11.

Aidan Haworth took the loss for Bishop McGuinness Varsity Irish. The pitcher surrendered 11 runs on eight hits over four and third innings.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats tallied 12 hits.  Riggs and Migl each had multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Riggs went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats in hits.
