Michael Lopez is in his 3rd year as an assistant coach at Piedmont High School. Before Piedmont, he was the assistant varsity coach at West Valley High School in Hemet, California for 2 years. Before West Valley High School, he was an assistant coach for Hemet High School for 5 years. He started his coaching career as a varsity head coach for Cornerstone Christian School in Hemet, CA.
Coach Lopez played baseball at Hemet High School in Hemet, CA from 2004-2007, where he was a catcher for all 4 years. In 2007, he represented the United States in the Goodwill Series traveling to Australia to play various Australian teams, including the ABL Perth Heat. After graduating he spent 4 years playing baseball for Biola University where they reached the regional tournament 3 out of his 4 years. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Biola University and a Master’s Degree in Education from National University. Michael is married to Chelsea Lopez, a teacher at the Middle School of Piedmont, and they have an 8-year-old daughter named Sophia and a 4-year-old daughter named Brynna. The Lopez’s currently reside in Piedmont, OK.
